Direct billing and insurance
We bill them. You get better things to do.
Direct billing means we send the claim to your insurer while you are still putting your coat on, and you pay only what the plan does not cover. Here is how the whole thing works, in plain language.
The one-time setup
Bring your extended health card to your first visit, or add the numbers to your intake form. We keep them on file, submit every claim while you are in the building, and tell you the uncovered portion before you leave the desk. If a claim bounces, we investigate before you have to.
Reading your own plan, the short course
Every paramedical benefit hides three numbers: the per-visit maximum, the annual pool per discipline, and the reset date, usually January 1. Find those three and you can predict every receipt. Massage, physiotherapy, counselling, and acupuncture usually sit in separate pools, so using one up does not touch the others. Devon wrote a longer plain-language note on this if you want the full decoder.
Billing questions, answered straight
Which insurers do you direct bill?
Pacific Blue Cross, Canada Life, Sun Life, Manulife, Green Shield, and most other major carriers. If yours is not on the list, you pay at the visit and we hand you a receipt formatted exactly the way plans like them.
What do I actually pay at the desk?
The portion your plan does not cover, which we can usually tell you on the spot. If your plan covers 80% of a $140 visit, you pay $28. No estimates, no invoice later.
How does ICBC billing work after a crash?
ICBC pre-approves 25 physiotherapy visits and 12 massage therapy visits within the first 12 weeks after a crash, no doctor's note needed. Bring your claim number; we bill ICBC directly and there is usually nothing for you to pay.
And WCB?
Workplace injuries need a WCB claim number first, which starts with reporting the injury to your employer and WorkSafeBC. Once you have the number, we handle the treatment approvals and billing paperwork from our side.
Can I split a claim between two plans?
Yes. If you have coverage through your plan and a spouse's, we bill the primary plan directly and give you the paperwork to claim the remainder on the second one. Coordination of benefits is a chore we are happy to make smaller.
Rates for every service are posted on the rates page. If your plan situation is genuinely tangled, phone the desk before you book: (250) 555-0147. Untangling it is faster in person than in a portal.
Insurance should not be the hard part.
Book the visit. Bring the card. We do the rest at the desk while you put your coat on.
