Registered Massage Therapy

Registered massage therapy at The Morrow Clinic is clinical, unhurried, and shaped around what your body is actually doing. Two RMTs, two distinct styles: deep and specific with Maren, slow and settling with Devon. Both are covered by most extended health plans, with direct billing.

Massage therapy here starts with a conversation, not a form on a clipboard. Your RMT wants to know what your days look like: the desk, the truck, the baby carried on one hip, the sport you will not give up. Treatment is built from that, so the work lands where your life actually loads.

Sessions happen in east-facing rooms with morning light and no hallway noise. Pressure is checked in plain words and adjusted without fuss. Nothing about the hour is rushed, including the part where you get up.

What to expect

Your first session

Ten minutes of talking, a few simple movement checks, then table time. Your RMT explains what they found and what they suggest before any ongoing plan is discussed.

Between visits

You leave with one or two things to do at home, never a program you would need to quit your job to follow.

Pressure, honestly

Deeper is not better, it is just deeper. Effective work happens at the pressure your nervous system can accept, and your RMT will find it with you.

2. Settling

Slow, moderate, warm. Devon's home ground. Most relaxation work and most first sessions live here, and staying here for a whole hour is a legitimate treatment, not a soft option.

Mid-session, two words are enough: "softer please" or "you can go deeper". Your RMT will ask anyway.

Asked often

Do I need a doctor's referral for massage therapy?

No. You can book directly. Some extended health plans require a referral for reimbursement, so it is worth checking yours. We can help you read the plan if the wording is murky.

Is massage therapy covered by my extended health plan?

Most BC plans cover RMT treatment. We direct bill most major insurers, so you usually pay only the portion your plan does not cover. Massage therapy rates are subject to GST in BC.

How undressed do I need to be?

Only ever to your own comfort level. Effective treatment is possible through clothing, and draping is standard, careful, and non-negotiable.
